This policy outlines how Expr3ss! collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the GDPR.

2. Personal Information

We collect data directly from you or via third parties (with your consent or as permitted by law). Types include name, address, employment history, and sensitive data like health or cultural background when required.

3. Lawful Basis for Processing

• Legitimate interests: service provision, IT maintenance, analytics.
• Consent: required only for processing sensitive data such as health or visa status when legally necessary or not otherwise covered by legitimate interest or legal obligation.
• Legal obligations: compliance with Corporations Act or immigration law.
• Vital interests: emergency health or safety issues.

4. Data Use & Disclosure

We use data to:

• Provide and manage our recruitment services.
• Communicate with job applicants and employers.
• Improve site functionality and assess engagement.

Disclosure may occur to:

• Technology service providers engaged by Expr3ss! solely to deliver and support our recruitment platform (under binding agreements).

• Support recruitment outcomes.
• Meet recordkeeping or audit requirements.

Afterward, data is securely destroyed or anonymised.

• Password-protected access for authorised users.

8. Data Breaches

Handled per the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) Scheme and GDPR requirements. Individuals will be notified if a breach is likely to cause serious harm.

9. Rights of Individuals

All users may access and correct their information. EU residents also have:

• Right to erasure.
• Right to restrict processing.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage, pixels, tags and SDKs) on our careers website and application forms (the Sites) to run core functions securely and reliably. With your permission, we also use optional cookies to understand performance and, where enabled, measure and personalise recruitment advertising.

10.1 Categories we use

Only Strictly necessary cookies run by default. Other categories are optional and will not be set unless you choose to enable them in our Cookie banner or settings.

• Strictly necessary (always on) — required for security, session management, load balancing, and to move through application steps. If you block these, parts of the Sites may not work.
• Functional — remember preferences (for example, locale) to make applying easier. Optional.
• Analytics & performance — help us understand site usage and improve the application experience (for example, measuring drop-off). Optional.
• Advertising & social — measure and personalise recruitment ads and enable social embeds. Optional.

10.2 Your choices and how to change them

On your first visit, you will see a prominent banner offering Accept all, Reject all, or Manage settings. You may change your choices at any time via the persistent Cookie settings link in the footer (withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it). If you reject or later withdraw consent for optional cookies, the Sites will continue to function for core activities; some optional features may be unavailable or less personalised.

10.3 Legal basis and region-specific information

• Australia (Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), APPs) — We provide clear notice about our cookie use and, where personal information is collected through optional cookies, we rely on your consent or another permitted ground. You can opt out of any direct marketing at any time (see section on Direct Marketing).
• EEA/UK (GDPR/ePrivacy/PECR) — We seek your freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent before setting any non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time via Cookie settings.

10.4 What data is collected

Depending on your choices, cookies and similar technologies may collect information such as device and browser type, settings, approximate location, interactions with pages and forms, and online identifiers (for example, cookie IDs or IP address). We minimise the data collected, apply configuration controls (for example, IP truncation where supported), and de-identify or aggregate data where possible.

10.5 Third parties and cross-border disclosures

We may use service providers that place cookies or process related data on our behalf (for example, security, analytics or advertising vendors). Some are located outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. 10.6 Retention

Cookie lifetimes are shown in our Cookie Policy. Related logs are retained only as long as needed for the purposes described, or as required by law, after which they are deleted or de-identified.

10.7 Managing cookies in your browser

You may also block or delete cookies using your browser settings. If you do, strictly necessary functions (including security and form progress) may be affected and parts of the Sites may not work as intended. Using the in-site Cookie settings is the simplest way to manage optional cookies without impacting necessary ones.
