Operations Manager (Commercial Cleaning)

About the role

We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to support the operational delivery of our commercial cleaning division, while directly leading and supporting a team of Account Managers.

This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on site presence, field staff training, maintaining cleaning standards and supporting strong client relationships. The majority of the role is site based, requiring someone who is confident working with cleaning equipment and machinery, comfortable leading practical training sessions and willing to lead from the front and support teams operationally when required.

 

A typical day in the role may include:

  • Conducting site inspections and proactively identifying issues before they escalate
  • Training cleaners onsite on machinery, equipment and cleaning procedures
  • Leading toolbox talks and practical training sessions with field staff
  • Supporting Account Managers with operational challenges and complaint resolution
  • Visiting challenging sites to improve cleaning standards and team performance
  • Demonstrating new machinery, specialist chemicals or operational procedures to teams onsite
  • Meeting with clients and maintaining strong working relationships
  • Following up operational issues and ensuring corrective actions are completed

What we require from you

  • Experience leading frontline operational teams within cleaning or similar operational environments
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to confidently train and mentor field staff
  • Strong practical understanding of machinery, equipment and safe work practices
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleaning standards
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to hold teams accountable and drive performance outcomes
  • Sound understanding of WHS requirements, SOPs, JSAs/Risk Assessments and safe operation of equipment and machinery
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check
  • Current full Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Flexibility to occasionally work after-hours as required
