About the role We are currently seeking an Account Manager to oversee the operational delivery of a large commercial cleaning portfolio across a diverse range of sites including schools, offices, banks and commercial facilities. This is a hands-on operational role responsible for maintaining cleaning standards, supporting field staff, managing client relationships and ensuring day-to-day operational requirements across your portfolio are consistently achieved. The role is majority site based, however also includes significant responsibility for workforce management across a large cleaning team, including timesheet approvals, leave management, shift coverage, staff performance, training and supporting cleaners and supervisors across multiple sites. You will be supported by a shared Operations Assistant and dedicated Recruitment Manager to assist with operational administration, recruitment and onboarding requirements across your portfolio. A typical day in the role may include: - Conducting site inspections and proactively identifying issues before they escalate
- Retraining cleaners onsite and improving cleaning standards across sites
- Supporting cleaners and supervisors with operational challenges and absenteeism
- Managing day-to-day staffing requirements, shift coverage and operational issues
- Approving timesheets, leave requests and roster changes
- Meeting with clients and maintaining strong working relationships
- Demonstrating equipment, machinery and cleaning procedures onsite
- Following up operational issues and ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Testing and tagging equipment to ensure ongoing compliance

What we require from you - Experience leading or supporting frontline operational teams within cleaning or similar operational environments
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to confidently support, train and mentor field staff onsite
- Strong practical understanding of machinery, equipment and safe work practices
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleaning standards
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously, use initiative and manage competing priorities
- Ability to hold teams accountable and drive performance outcomes
- Sound understanding of WHS requirements, SOPs, JSAs/Risk Assessments and safe operation of equipment and machinery
- Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check
- Current full Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
- Ability to manage after-hours operational issues and staffing requirements across your portfolio when required
